Being a Good Neighbor
We invite you to be mindful of your neighbors and the natural beauty of our mountain community. By following these simple guidelines, we can ensure that Solamere remains a peaceful and welcoming place for all.
City Compliant
Park City requires that all dogs be on leashes while on the street. And, as a good neighbor, pick up after your pet and dispose of the waste in your own bin. There have been complaints about the disturbance caused by dogs with excessive barking or allowing them to chase animals and people. Pet owners, be respectful of others.
Exterior Lighting
Park City adheres to the “Dark Sky Initiative.” https://engageparkcity.org/dark-sky
From November 1 through March 1, seasonal lights should be off after 11:00 p.m. Please put a timer on your exterior lights and help the wildlife that relies on the natural darkness of night. This also applies to garages with transparent or translucent doors. Turn off the lights at night.
We're a Ski Town
Good news for winter sports enthusiasts. Park City Mountain Resort has announced its opening day as November 20th, 2026. Their season will run until April 19th.
Deer Valley will welcome skiers starting December 5th. Dates for both resorts are dependent on snow conditions. Keep watching the weather reports with fingers crossed and hope for a great season.
Deer Valley Resort Skier Shuttle
Solamere, like many neighboring HOAs, has contracted with Deer Valley Direct for shuttle service during the ski season. Using a ride-share app, skiers can summon a van to get them to and from the Snow Park area from their homes. This saves time, gasoline, and keeps many cars off the road and out of the parking lots. The app uses a community mapping system and will only work from your Solamere residence. This service is included in the HOA dues.
THE SHUTTLE OPERATES DAILY FROM 7:45 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M.

Noxious Weed Control
Weeds are an annual blight. The HOA Board contracts with a landscaper to spray and pull weeds in the common areas and maintain the median strip on Solamere. But lot owners are responsible for eradicating invasive weeds on their own properties. If you have questions or need a recommendation on the landscaper the HOA uses, please contact Marianne. Your neighbors will thank you for not letting the weeds spread.
Summit County requires land owners to control noxious weeks on their property. One of the most viable noxious weeds in our area is Thistle, which grows from two as much as eight feet tall during the summer and is topped by a purple flower. Thistle can be controlled by spraying if done early enough in the spring: after the rosettes appear on the ground, but before the weed buds. After that, herbicides are no longer effective and controlling thistle is a much more laborious and expensive process requiring digging the plants up at the roots. Most landscapers can arrange spraying to control this noxious weed.

Summer & Wildfire Preparedness
Summer in our high mountain desert is naturally prone to wildfires. While it is difficult to think about the what if, it makes sense to be prepared. At least have a list of what to pack into a “go bag” and what valuables to take with you. Should the main exits of Deer Valley Drive be impassable, there are a few routes to take only in a worst case scenario. Here’s a link to the emergency exits. They are unimproved and dangerous. Let’s hope we never need to use them.

Trash & Recycling
Republic Services takes care of trash pickup on Fridays. Check out their website for a calendar of which weeks include recycling and any changes to the schedule. Republicservices.com. Please put away your empty bins within 24 hours of pickup. If you are out of town, ask your property manager to do the same.
Optional but encouraged is a separate service for food waste pickup and recycling from Momentum Recycling. https://utah.momentumrecycling.com.
